Jack was a professional musician while still a child. At age 17 he entered the U.S. Navy as a musician, with longterm dreams of being a songwriter. Preferring to eat, he changed career directions at age 21, and enrolled at the University of Denver, majoring in Mass Communications.

His professional career has encompassed both radio and television. He has been a news anchor, news director in both radio and television, as well as an award-winning reporter. In Pittsburgh he spent more than 22-years on WPXI Television as a feature reporter (Etzel At Large) and as a handyman (Jack Of All Trades).

Since taking early retirement, he has been teaching Radio and TV News Writing at CCAC, Mass Communications at La Roche College, writing for North Hills Monthy Magazine, and spending his Saturdays here at 1360-WPTT on The Handyman Show from 12:30 until 1:30. Jack and his wife, Carol, are the proud parents of two grown daughters.
